URBE FAIR DEAL
Clear numbers. Fair business. No surprises.
Every release operates under a budget agreed in advance, a maximum recovery cap and a transparent record of income and expenses.
URBE Records believes a fair relationship between label and artist begins with knowing exactly where the money is.
We do not apply hidden fees.
We do not mark up third-party services.
We do not move losses from one release to another.
We do not turn an unrecovered balance into personal debt for the artist.
We do not automatically claim publishing, live income, merchandise or revenue unrelated to the master recording.
We do not take permanent ownership of an artist's masters as a default business model.
While an agreed investment remains unrecovered, the artist participates in income from the first payment received under the applicable release agreement.
Once the agreed recoverable investment has been fully recovered, URBE stops participating economically in that release and subsequent label receipts belong to the artist, subject only to third-party distribution deductions and any obligations expressly agreed in writing.
Every recoverable expense must be identifiable, documented and approved in advance. Every income line must be traceable to its source.
Our business is not built on what an artist owes us. It is built on creating the conditions for music to exist, circulate and grow.
